DU Cricket Cup was officially inaugurated on dt-12/02/2025 with a spectacular opening ceremony at Chandikhole Sunguda Play Ground marking the beginning of an exciting tournament featuring some of the best cricketing talents across states.
The event was graced by Dr Bijay Kumar Satpathy,Ex CDMO,Jajpur, Dr.Biswajit Mohapatra,Educationist, Surendra Kumar Jena,Incharge of Chandikhole outpost , Snigdharani Swain ,Nominee member , President of Friends Sports and Cultural Club Sripati Jena, who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of sports in shaping young minds. The tournament aims to promote competitive spirit, teamwork, and excellence among players, bringing together teams from various colleges under DU’s umbrella.
The inaugural match saw an intense face-off between Mukteshwar Cricket Club and Juvenile Club Cricket, setting the stage for a thrilling competition. With over 10 teams participating, the DU Cricket Cup promises weeks of high-energy action, culminating in a grand finale where the winning team will lift the coveted trophy.
The tournament will follow a league-cum-knockout format, with teams battling it out in group stages before progressing to the semi-finals and finals. Enthusiastic crowds, a festive atmosphere, and top-class cricketing action are expected to make this year’s DU Cricket Cup a memorable event as Final match to be played on dt-19/02/2025.
